About Us

Located on the BOCONNOC Estate

Located on the beautiful Boconnoc Estate near Liskeard, Cornwall, the Steam Fair is one of the largest events of its kind in the South West.

As the Cornwall Group wanted to concentrate more in the Wadebridge area, the Liskeard Steam and Vintage Club was formed.
The main organisers were Richard Sandercock, Steve Veal, Roger Matthews, Les Baker and Antony Hooper.
Rallies were run at Merrymeet up to 1997. In 1998 there was no rally, but in 1999 rallies began at Boconnoc under the umbrella of the Liskeard Steam and Vintage Club. Chris Sawford and Robin Daniels got to know Mr Anthony Fortescue through their mutual interest in vintage vehicles, especially tractors.
The question of holding a steam rally on the Estate was posed, and as a result rallies started on the lovely Boconnoc Estate in 1999.
